5. Analysis tools and advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”. These are text files which are stored on your computer and which enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

The storage of Google Analytics cookies and the use of this analysis tool are based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the analysis of user behaviour in order to optimize both his website and his advertising.

IP Anonymization

We have activated the IP anonymization function on this website. As a result, your IP address is shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before it is transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities and to provide further services to the website operator in connection with website and internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other data from Google.

Browser plugin

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) from being passed on to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Order processing

We have concluded a contract with Google for order processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Demographic characteristics in Google Analytics

This website uses the “demographic features” function of Google Analytics. This makes it possible to create reports that contain statements about the age, gender and interests of the site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising by Google as well as visitor data from third parties. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can deactivate this function at any time via the ad settings in your Google Account or generally prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics as described in the section “Objection to data collection”.

Google Analytics remarketing

Our websites use the functions of Google Analytics Re-marketing in conjunction with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

This feature makes it possible to link the advertising target groups created with Google Analytics Re-marketing to the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. In this way, interest-related, personalized advertising messages that have been adapted to you on one device (e.g. mobile phone) depending on your previous usage and surfing behavior can also be displayed on another of your devices (e.g. tablet or PC).

If you have given permission, Google will link your web and app browsing history to your Google Account for this purpose. In this way, the same personalized advertising messages can be displayed on every device you sign in to with your Google Account.

To support this feature, Google Analytics collects Google-authenticated user IDs that are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data to define and create audiences for cross-device advertising.

You can permanently opt-out of cross-device remarketing/targeting by turning off personalized advertising in your Google Account, following this link https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

The summary of the collected data in your Google Account is based solely on your consent, which you can give or revoke to Google (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). For data collection operations that are not merged into your Google Account (for example, because you don’t have a Google Account or have opted out of the merge), the collection of data is based on article 6, paragraph 6. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The legitimate interest results from the fact that the website operator has an interest in the anonymous analysis of the website visitors for advertising purposes.

Further information and the privacy policy can be found in the privacy policy of Google under https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.

Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking

This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising program of Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”).

In the context of Google AdWords we use the so-called conversion tracking. When you click on an ad placed by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. Cookies are small text files that the Internet browser stores on the user’s computer. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used to personally identify users. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not expired, Google and we may recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was directed to that page.

Every Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. The cookies cannot be tracked on the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers learn the total number of users who have clicked on their ad and been redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, you will not receive information that can be used to identify users personally. If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can object to this use by slightly disabling the Google Conversion Tracking cookie on your Internet browser under User Preferences. They will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.

The storage of “conversion cookies” and the use of this tracking tool are based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the analysis of user behaviour in order to optimize both his website and his advertising.

More information about Google AdWords and Google conversion tracking can be found in the Google Privacy Policy: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If you disable cookies, the functionality of this website may be limited.

Facebook Pixel

Our website uses the visitor action pixel of Facebook, Facebook Inc, 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”) to measure conversion.

This makes it possible to track the behaviour of site visitors after they have been redirected to the provider’s website by clicking on a Facebook ad. This allows the effectiveness of Facebook Ads to be evaluated for statistical and market research purposes and future advertising measures to be optimized.

The collected data is anonymous for us as the operator of this website, we cannot draw any conclusions about the identity of the users. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the Facebook Data Usage Policy. This allows Facebook to allow advertisements to be placed on pages within Facebook and outside of Facebook. This use of the data cannot be influenced by us as site operators.

The use of Facebook pixels is based on Art. 6 paragraph. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in effective advertising measures including social media.

You will find further information on the protection of your privacy in Facebook’s privacy notices: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

If you do not have a Facebook account, you can disable usage-based advertising from Facebook on the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance website: http://www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement/.

6. Plugins and Tools

YouTube with enhanced data protection

Our website uses plugins from the website YouTube. The operator of the site is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

We use YouTube in advanced privacy mode. According to YouTube, this mode has the effect that YouTube does not store any information about visitors to this website before they watch the video. However, the extended data protection mode does not necessarily exclude the transfer of data to YouTube partners. So whether you’re watching a video or not, YouTube connects to the Google DoubleClick network.

As soon as you start a YouTube video on our website, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. This tells the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged in to your YouTube account, you allow YouTube to assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

Furthermore, YouTube can store various cookies on your end device after starting a video. These cookies enable YouTube to obtain information about visitors to our website. This information is used, among other things, to gather video statistics, improve the user experience and prevent fraud. The cookies remain on your end device until you delete them.

After the start of a YouTube video, further data processing may be triggered, over which we have no control.

YouTube is used in the interest of an attractive presentation of our online offers. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Article 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.

For more information about YouTube’s privacy policy, please see their privacy policy at https://www.youtube.com/t/privacy_at_youtube.

Google Web Fonts

This page uses so-called web fonts, which are provided by Google, for the uniform display of fonts. When you call up a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into its browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly.

For this purpose, the browser you use must connect to Google’s servers. Through this, Google obtains knowledge that our website has been accessed via your IP address. Google Web Fonts are used in the interest of a uniform and attractive presentation of our online offers. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Article 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.

If your browser does not support web fonts, a default font is used by your computer.

More information about Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.
